Blogging has become more common these days. In this scenario the most common question I face from bloggers is that which blogging platform to choose?
This confusion arises mainly because of many different blogging platforms available. There are some free blogging platforms available that are hosted on the blog hosting sites. Different blog platforms include wordpress.org, blogger.com, typepad, moveable type, bloglines, livejournal, tripod etc.
Platforms like blogger.com, wordpress.org are free hosting services in which the control of the blog is left with hosting sites. Therefore to have control of blog with you it is advised to host on your server. In this case most of the bloggers will choose to have their own domain for their blogs.
In choosing the blogging platform one must go through several factor and those include
- First, decide your goals. Do you look yourself blogging for long time?
- Second, are you looking to make money from your blog?
- Next, what is your budget? Depending on you budget you can decide which blogging platform to choose either free hosting or paid hosting.
- Finally, your technical knowledge that you have. Based on the knowledge you have on blogging you can invest.
